Ronnie Scott's jazz and wine, Clerkenwell London

On October 30th 1959, saxophonist Ronnie Scott opened his basement jazz club in London’s Soho. Little did he know it would someday become one of the world’s most famous jazz clubs, inspiring jazz musicians from Miles Davis to Kurt Elling, the whole room fit to burst every night with audiences buzzing, consumed by arguably the most emotive music genre of them all.

Clerkenwell London is elated to partner with Ronnie Scott’s jazz club, to bring the phenomenal sound of the London jazz scene to our intimate Piano lounge on Thursday 24th November 2016. This inaugural evening of exclusive music performances will feature a corresponding wine tasting and canapés, for a unique multi-sensory experience.

Sit back and listen to the sounds of singer Georgia Mancio accompanied by one of Ronnie Scott’s resident pianists, whose soft sounds will transport you somewhere far away from modern London to a world of pure beauty and warmth. A true improviser with boundless imagination, Mancio embraces the entire world of jazz and modern song repertoire to create a sound that is truly rare.

To accompany the sensational sound of the evening, our resident wine manager Pauline Vicard, will take you through a selection of astonishing, hand selected wines to create an all-encompassing, sensory experience.

Pauline believes: “wine is like music, just as you don’t need to play an instrument to be overcome with emotion when listening to a song, you don’t need to be a wine connoisseur to feel something when tasting a beautiful bottle. As the vibrations, pitch and tone of jazz music sends you on trip to your inner self, the taste of a complex wine can do exactly the same. Every sip sends a smattering of flavours across your palate, bringing back memories, emotions and happiness.”

While away an evening filled with two of life’s greatest pleasures, beautiful jazz music and exciting wines, in a unique space designed to enhance the sounds projected within. With only 50 tickets available, book now to avoid disappointment for this exclusive and rare event.

Tickets are still available with a special Early Bird price of £65 including a two course dinner at 155 Bar & Kitchen. Normal price £75 with dinner, £55 without.
