Keratosis Pilaris bumps on arms

ASK THE EXPERT: I HAVE BUMPS ON MY ARMS WHICH I THINK ARE KERATOSIS PILARIS. WHAT CAN I DO?

Keratosis pilaris is a common condition characterized by the appearance of rough, slightly red bumps on light skin and brown bumps on darker skin. A lot of people suffer from it and don’t really know how to treat it.

The best way of keeping it at bay is to get a rough body brush and scrub the area as this will help stimulate blood flow and remove any dead unwanted skin. After body brushing, LED treatments are very beneficial, again helping with blood stimulation. Heating the area will also help kick start your circulation.

After treatment apply a moisture healing balm like Rescue+ from Cosmedix. I love Cosmedix because they use a combination of natural ingredients and chemistry to create products that are kind to the skin without compromising on results. This will hydrate and heal the area with active ingredients such as shea butter and argan oil and resveratrol.
