Our top tip for combating this is to make a homemade scrub of coconut oil with sugar. Mix ¼ cup of sugar with ½ cup of coconut oil. Rub this on your lips gently to remove the dead skin and then wash off with water.
After using the scrub apply a lip balm that contains naturally hydrating ingredients such as coconut oil, beeswax, shea butter, cocoa butter or olive oil.
Avoid ingredients like petroleum jelly, mineral oil, phenol and artificial colours and dyes.
Make sure you keep a lip balm with you at all times to avoid you licking your lips.
