Hangover skin care

ASK THE EXPERT:I NEED TO HIDE A HANGOVER AT WORK, WHAT ARE YOUR BEST HANGOVER SKIN CARE TIPS?

We all know that sinking feeling on a Friday morning, when one drink after work the previous evening turns into many more than one and getting an Uber home at 3am, and now you have to look and feel respectable enough to face the working day.

Thankfully our expert, Rachael Collins, has all the secrets to brightening up and fooling everyone into thinking you had a wonderful, long sleep.

Firstly, drink two to three pints of water the second you wake up on an empty stomach to rehydrate and flush everything out.

Forgo your usual lighter morning cleanser and massage an oil rich cleansing balm rich all over your face in a circular motion then rinse with warm water. This will give your skin a really deep clean, especially good if you forgot to take over yesterday’s makeup. Next splash freezing cold water all over to tighten the pores and reduce the boozy bloat.

To tackle those puffy eye bags soak two tea bags in cold water and leave on your eyes for five minutes. This will reduce the inflammation and brighten your eyes.

If you’re really struggling to keep your eyes wide and bright, use brightening eye drops if necessary but this is not advised on a regular basis, so keep this trick for important days.

Finally, apply your favourite rich moisturiser to add back and lock in moisture and use a hydrating eye cream and brightener.

Don’t forget to carry a hydrator spray with you all day to keep yourself looking revitalized and fresh.

If only we knew how to make our brains feel ‘revitalised and fresh’ after only three hours sleep…
